Mamaearth Natural Insect Repellent spray and After bite Roll on – Review

Winter’s are here!!!
Nothing better than “chilling out” naturally after a rather sun stricken year and immerse yourself in the joy and festivities that surround.
The setback to the onset of the cool however is that the persistent mosquitoes that were since driven out and away by the relentless heat now seek to find a new abode, one that would keep them through the cold of winter-MY HOUSE!
And the first thought that runs into a mother’s mind is that of protecting your little darling from these unwanted stowaways.

The complexity in this task lies in the fact that the normal products that work really well for adults, are not entirely safe for infants and toddlers. And toddlers being who they are would stop at nothing to get a taste of anything that they find to be new. Repellents included.

Last year, I tried using external natural means to inhibit mosquitoes but with little success.
On doing a more thorough research, I did manage to find a product that worked like a dream-
Mamaearth Natural Insect Repellent for babies.

I’ve used Mama Earth products for myself earlier and was impressed by how effective they were. So I thought it wise to give it a try on Kay-Kay.
My poor baby had swollen-red cheeks from the onslaught of mosquitoes through the night and something had to be done!
It did not take many uses for me to verify the success of the product and I would definitely recommend it to all Moms facing a similar situation.

Mama Earth Insect Repellent is powered with natural & organic ingredients; it carries a Unique Blend of Essential Oils & Herbal Extracts to keep Insects at Bay. It contains No Harmful Chemicals & can be used on Skin without any fear!
It has a natural blend of essential repellent oils like Citronella and Eucalyptus oils.

Another plus point is that this product works just as well outdoors.

However there may still be times between bath and application of the spray that a mosquito sneaks in a bite. To deal with the itching and post bite irritation Mama Earth also has an after bite Roll-On –
Mamaearth After Bite Roll On
By reducing the soreness and redness rather quickly it deals with the mosquito bite and gives quick relief.
The product claims to go all the way by further helping the skin to heal and return to normalcy.

Just as I noticed with the spray, this one too is good for what it claims. The product is effective for upto 2 hours and then needs to be reapplied. I usually spray at night and then sometimes another spray after 4 to 5 hours if need be. By far, its the most (only) effective means of keeping the mozzies away from my little one and I think this product is a steal for that reason only.

Again, the ingredients used are natural and totally safe for your baby’s skin.

The repellent spray has a double cap packaging which avoid accidental sprays in your bag. Both the products are travel friendly and can easily be stashed into your bag or travel sac.

I did a bit more reading on the brand Mama Earth and found that it is Asia’s first certified brand that is free of deet, mineral oil, alcohol, synthetic perfumes, and artificial preservatives.
Looking forward to trying more products of this brand.

But for now, the two Mama earth mosquito repellent spray and After bite roll on have become resident members of my bag wherever I go. I absolutely love them and Kay-Kay can enjoy the winter without having to worry about sore, red cheeks anymore!!!

In a nutshell –

PROS:

  1. Its an effective product and has definitely delivers as promised.
  2. 100% natural product made of essential oils.
  3. Reasonably priced.
  4. The smell is not very strong unlike other repellents.
  5. Travel friendly and well packaged product.
  6. Can be use for babies from 0 to 5 years.

CONS:

  1. The spray packaging leads to more usage of the product. That said, it makes it convenient to use and you dont need to get your hands soiled every time you use it.

OVERALL RATING4.7/5
